SUFFERING AND GLORY – It is a common word of courage and triumph, to hear victorious athletes, for example, tell of the pain and suffering they had to endure to be able to stand on the victor’s podium and wear the victor’s gold medal. These men and women, do not give up, but persevere in suffering and trials because they know that victory awaits them. St. Paul also encourages all who are in Christ Jesus, to view our present sufferings in light of the glory that will be revealed to us. We persevere in suffering for Christ’s sake.
Spirit Divine, keep us ever mindful that our present sufferings cannot be compared with what awaits us. Amen!
