Obey And Follow

 

September 14

OBEY AND FOLLOW – Peter is as a caged tiger, no way of escape, chained and bound with no hope of release. In this humanly impossible situation, God sends His angel to free Peter. Without asking a question Peter follows all the instructions given to him, without fault. When he comes to his senses he realizes that he is a free man. God still uses angels, in many ways, in our day, to lead His captive children out of captivity. Do like Peter. Obey without question, and receive release from your captors.

 

Omnipotent Father, thank You for being so powerful to save me. Amen!

Persistent Faith

 

Persistent Faith can save another,

If you let nothing this faith hinder,

For many things will stand in the way,

Causing you from faith’s path to stray.

But know this fact, whatever you do,

Faith is the response God wants from you,

A simple, stubborn faith in His Son,

Whereby life’s many battles are won,

A stubborn faith that knows not, no,

Like the man’s, who to his friend did go,

Seeking bread, for a needy neighbour,

Refusing, ‘Not now’, as an answer.

Write this lesson deep down in your mind,

Persistent faith, its answer will find.

And if you keep on in faith’s sure way,

Some waiting soul, will be saved today.

Amen!

Angels Are To Be Obeyed

ANGELS ARE TO BE OBEYED - It has always been a way of God to use angels to help His people. When He delivered His children out of Egypt, God sent an angel to guard them, ensuring their safety if they obeyed. God was sure to warn His people to pay attention to the angel and listen to what he said. Their safe passage through enemy territory was guaranteed through the angel. 

 

Holy God, You still send Your messengers to guard and guide us along. Make us obedient and grateful please. Amen!

Salvation Possible

 

September 12

SALVATION POSSIBLE – Do you sometimes feel as though there is no way you can be saved, when you see what is happening with others who are higher and better than you? This same feeling took hold of Jesus’ disciples, when they saw a rich person turn away from Jesus, and heard Jesus’ scary pronouncements on the rich and God’s Kingdom. The disciples became quite concerned and asked Jesus about who could be saved. Be assured! What is impossible with people is possible with God.

 

Holy God, remind me that what is so impossible to me, is possible with You. Amen!

Believe Or Die

 

September 11

BELIEVE OR DIE – Ever so often, we all need to be reminded of this life-saving fact, so that we can be sure of our salvation. Jesus was speaking to His own, those whom He came to save and He told them plainly that if they did not believe in Him, as the Sent One, they would surely die in their sins. You and I need not die in our sins. All we have to do is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and turn our lives over to Him.

 

Jesus, Saviour, Life, keep us from all stubbornness and train us to follow You, please. Amen!

Jesus Is The Christ

JESUS IS THE CHRIST – God used His prophets to tell His people that He would send Messiah to save them. This prophecy has been fulfilled and Messiah, Christ has come. However, many still do not believe that Jesus is Messiah. O yes, we believe in Jesus, but do we believe that Jesus is the Christ? Our attitude and manner to the evils of this world, tell whether or not we believe in Jesus as the Christ.

 

Jehovah, I truly want to know Your Son, Jesus as the Christ. Amen!

Jesus Of Different Forms

 

September 9

JESUS OF DIFFERENT FORMS – Never ever try to box Jesus into the same mold. Additionally, on no condition let anyone deceive you with how He looks and appears to people. Jesus is Spirit and He can come to us in any form He chooses. He does not need your approval of form, before He comes to you. Two of His disciples had this experience, and did not recognize Him because He was in a different form. Is Jesus with you in a form you consider ludicrously ordinary?

 

Jesus of different forms, show Yourself to me please. Amen!

Job is Restored

JOB IS RESTORED – Job is a servant of God from whom many shy away. However, we must never fail to acknowledge the faithfulness of God to bring Job back to a better place and position. When your life-experiences resemble Job’s in many areas, think of Job’s end and how God restores and consoles him bountifully, in every sphere of his life. Read about it in the suggested reading. God has not left you. You will be handsomely restored.

 

Father, when I am crushed and taken down because of life-experiences, which have brought me low, grant me to remember always that You are a Father who restores.  Amen!

Keep Knocking

 

September 7

KEEP KNOCKING – Jesus has said that all who in prayer, knock, will have the door opened to them. Are you an asker, a seeker and a knocker in prayer? Jesus encourages you to keep on for you will receive, you will find and the door will be opened. Check the picture of Peter, knocking, and knocking, yet not being answered. Like Peter, persevere in your knocking, for you know that you are being heard. The door will be opened to you. 

 

Keep me knocking in prayer Lord, for You have said to keep on knocking and the door will be opened. Amen!

Give Me Prayer

 

Lord give me the power there is in prayer,

Each time I pray, let me know that You hear.

 

Lord give me the presence there is in prayer,

Of Your Holy Spirit who teaches, clear.

 

Lord give me the patience there is in prayer,

To wait upon You, without doubt or fear.

Lord give me the persistence there is in prayer,

Let the garment of faith be what I wear.

 

Lord give me the pleasure there is in prayer,

Delighted to know You always are there.

 

Lord give me the power there is in prayer,

May prayer be my life-breath, my very air.
