We, like our Saviour must be this world’s SALT
He in whom the Father knew not one fault,
Jesus, God’s Son, whose love surpasses all,
Human, tried and tested, He did not fall,
Fall to all the evils that came His way,
Where He knew deepest sorrow, hear Him pray,
Father, if You will, let this cup be gone,
Yet not My will, for Your will must be done,
Love took on the world’s sin - all yours and mine,
Christ’s sorrow was so great, words can’t define,
God had to send down angels from heaven,
Our weak, sorrowing Saviour to strengthen,
As He in anguish, prayed more earnestly,
Sweat,
like drops of blood, fell copiously:
Was
not earth Love’s sacrificial altar?
Was
this not Sorrow And Love Together?
Just
like our Master, we are the world’s SALT,
In
life or in death, there is no default,
Jesus,
who in life, surpassed every test,
Now
in death shows Love at its very best,
For
Love is of God and it cannot die,
No
matter how hard sin’s evils apply
Its
pressures and forces, in ways severe,
Love’s
Spirit, in victory, will persevere,
Yes,
e’en in death for no death can Love hold,
Listen
to what the Scriptures have us told,
To
make sure Jesus on that cross was dead,
They
broke no feet, they pierced His side instead,
Suddenly
there flowed out water and blood,
All
mixed together, Love’s outpouring flood:
Earth
is still Love’s sacrificial altar,
Indeed,
it’s Sorrow And Love Together?
Amen!
