TRADITIONS – Traditions help to keep societies close-knit and together. However, traditions can become the rulers of people’s lives to the point of dumb, rude defiance to Jesus, as Lord. When traditions are the measuring rods by which things are accepted or rejected, then Jesus the Way will be resisted. Are there traditions in your life that are hindering you from accepting the ways of Jesus? Seek earnestly to be rid of them as your idols.
Show me, Holy Spirit, how easily I make traditions my idols. Save me from this folly please. Amen!
