Don't Shield Me

DON’T SHIELD ME – As a follower and disciple of Jesus, there are times when we must suffer pain and hardship for the sake of the Gospel.  We do not want to see any family member, friend, or leader go through suffering and we dive in to rescue and save them from such. This is exactly what Peter did as he tried to save his beloved Jesus, from being arrested. Will you listen to these words of Jesus and let them inform you? Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me? John 18: 11. Yes, there are times when we are not called to shield others for in so doing, we are going against the Father’s Ways.

 

God, grant me the wisdom to know Your ways and respect them. Amen!
