PUNISH THEN RELEASE – This tactic, this way of punishing people then releasing them is not of God. We remember that this is exactly what Pilate wanted to do to Jesus, as a means of appeasing the enemies of Jesus. Do not adopt such an attitude in anything you do. If someone has been accused of wrong, whether it is calling you derogatory names or stealing your possession, never engage in saying that you forgive the person, but after you ensure they have been adequately punished. When the Lord forgave you your sins against Him, He never punished you, then set you free.
O Love that freed me from my punishment and bore it on the tree, have mercy on me. Amen!
