YET THE DOOR REMAINED SHUT – This description of the young woman who did not open the door for Peter, alerts us to truths about ourselves and our Lord Jesus. Like Peter, is Jesus knocking, but at your heart’s door? Have you heard the knocking and gone to see who it is? You do recognise Jesus’ voice, but you are so overwhelmed, so overjoyed that you run to tell everyone in the house and leave Jesus standing outside. It may be a word, a revelation, even. Never leave Jesus behind.
Is the door still closed, though Jesus is knocking?
Is it still shut, though you know He’s there speaking?
Return, open quickly, people are yet seeking,
It is for the Saviour many are asking. Amen!
