My blood was drained on Calvary,
As I was nailed upon that tree,
I was the Lamb, the sacrifice,
The one and only perfect price,
To give you birth, afresh, anew,
A new life, all done just for you.
My blood was drained on Calvary,
For all the watching world to see,
Yet in My agony and pain,
I knew just what would be My gain,
My blood was given, it's the sign,
That shows the world all who are Mine.
My blood was drained on Calvary,
To draw all people unto Me,
And as it happens on the earth,
When a new born is given birth
Blood all over the child is seen,
That's how with Me it's always been.
My blood was drained on Calvary,
And that's just how it has to be,
So that My blood, and no other's,
Would be the blood that you covers,
The blood that new birth leaves on you,
I say, no other blood will do.
My blood was drained on Calvary,
So from all other blood, you're free,
For it washes away all stains,
Ensuring that not one remains;
To give me birth, Your blood was drained,
O Love! By You I am constrained.
Amen!
