Holy Spirit: Our Outrider

 

When the Holy Spirit goes ahead of us,

Though the path is rough and most treacherous,

He goes before us to make it all clear,

So we can follow minus crippling fear;

Like the outrider in authority,

Who is escorting some dignitary,

He rides ahead in the thickest traffic,

Orders precise, serious, specific,

All must obey, to retreat or stand still,

At the authority’s commanding will,

Once the outrider of authority,

Goes before us, there’s sure security,

Our pathway is fixed, no obstacles block,

No untoward powers can or will mock;

We’ve an outrider of Omnipotence,

Against whom no other has a defense, 

God, Holy Spirit, goes ahead of us,

For our lives He is most desirous,

To be our Guide, our Lead, our Outrider,

Seen or unseen, our present Provider,

Granting us grace beyond human measure,

Giving peace, calm and divine composure,

By faith let us all our Outrider know,

In faith lose doubts, as we His lead follow.
