Thanks From The Heart

 

Lord, You are far beyond my thinking,

Who can fathom how you are working?

Without warning and without asking,

You just showed up with Love revealing;

Who can match Your grace and Your goodness?

Who can stop or thwart Your faithfulness?

Holy Lord, how can I say thank You,

How can I face love so pure and true!

I’m a sinner, deserving darkness,

For I am steeped in sin’s wretchedness,

Why do You for me, openly care?

My heart is evil, that’s crystal clear,

Love, You say those in You must possess,

Is not found in me, just evilness,

Yet You come to me in my soiled state,

Seeking with me to communicate,

Holy! Holy! Holy! Lord Jesus,

Save me from all that is perilous,

Lift me above my folly and pride,

Under Your strong wings will You me hide?

Teach me to pray with a thankful heart,

Thanks from the heart You to me impart.
