Love Your Enemy

LOVE YOUR ENEMY – In our Lord’s command to us, He has told us that we are not to follow the old ways of loving one’s neighbour and hating one’s enemy. On the contrary, we are not just to love our enemy, but we are to pray for all who persecute us. This is love, the love which comes from above. This heavenly love is not worldly love, even in its best and most admired form. It is love from heaven, which shows that we are children of God, our heavenly Father, who is Love. 

 

Heavenly Father, this love of enemy does not come naturally nor easily to me, so I come to You, confessing my inability to love as You love and ask that You teach me how to love. Amen!
