Dig around me, fertilize, Jesus
Master,
Or else there will be eternal
disaster,
As my life is barren, no fruit
do I bear,
Of the Father’s displeasure, I’m
quite aware,
He looks for me to bear good
fruit in His Name,
Alas! Year after year I remain
the same,
He comes, He looks; no fruit
have I to offer,
To have me using soil, what
does it proffer?
Come by me Lord Jesus, Divine Blest
Servant,
For You know I’ve been stubborn
and adamant,
In my own proud ways that
myself uplift,
Showing, abusing, every
God-given gift,
With attitude that says I my
God must please,
Not knowing I’m falling by
lengths, not degrees,
Judge God has strongly spoken
and I have heard,
His judgment on me has my stubborn
heart stirred.
I confess Lord Jesus, on low
bended knee,
You’re the only Person who can
now help me,
Doomed to be cut down, deserving
death to die,
I cannot God’s just verdict for me becry,
On my behalf I hear Jesus speak
boldly,
I have come here to save vile
sinners only,
To You I surrender, give me
what I need,
Dig around me, fertilize, for
me intercede.
Amen!
