Greed

GREED – Greed comes in many different forms, but regardless of how it comes, God does not like greed because greed is the offspring of selfishness. In the parable Jesus told about the, Rich Fool, He spoke of how that man received more and more blessings from God. But as he became richer, he became more self-seeking and entirely selfish. He never thought of sharing his produce with the poor and needy around. Instead, he concerned himself with building bigger barns to hold his increased fortunes.  Such selfish greed is never approved by God. That selfish person never got to enjoy his increased blessings.

 

Holy Spirit, You do not delight in selfishness and greed. Show us how to be mindful of others and be willing to share Your blessings with them. Amen!
