Advent Hope

 

Come O Lord, with healing in Your wings,

Come with Your mercy that still hope brings,

For You, O Father, You know us all,

As You know each sparrow, ere they fall,

And we’re more precious than each sparrow,

Remove from us, minds that are narrow,

Grant us freedom in Your love to live,

For that’s what You came to earth to give;

Come into my heart with healing wings,

May Advent hope be what my heart sings.  

 

Come O Lord, with Your pardoning light,

Come in Your power and for us fight,

For we are too weak to face the foe,

Some that we see and don’t even know,

You came and lived in our human clay,

Warding off sin’s ploys, day after day,

Help us to trust You for You know best,

Let us seek You in every life-test;

Take hold of my mind with healing grace,

May I, Advent hope in You embrace.
