Thank You Lord

On this first day of a fresh, brand-new, virgin year, a year that you have not known before, a path you have not travelled, many emotions and thoughts will seek to crowd your mind. Will you, as you contemplate all those thoughts, whether they bring a boost of resolve and courage, or a rush of fear and deep bother, pause for a bit to share this time with me? It’s a special, personal and intimate time with our ever-present Lord, on whom you want to lavish deeply, sincere thanks, with your surrendered heart and will, for who He is and what He has done for you.

 

I thank You Lord for this New Year,

The love of friends and family dear,

Gifts and blessings I have received,

Even when I had not believed;

Grace to me You have extended,

Lord in full, I have repented.

 

I thank You Lord for love and care,

How can I look for help elsewhere?

In this New Year I bow to You,

Grateful for all You say and do;

Good, to me You have extended,

Lord in full, I have repented.

  

I thank You Lord for unmatched grace,

Taking punishment, in my place,

You bore the cross of sin for me,

New hope, new life, You set me free;

Pardon to me You have extended,

Lord in full, I have repented.

 

I thank You Lord for privilege,

No more need I live in bondage,

The binds of fear and worry strong

No more drag me with them along;

Life to me You have extended,

Lord in full, I have repented.

 

As you journey through 2026, may our Gracious, Heavenly Father endue you with a heart of thanksgiving, a mind of gratitude and a spirit of praise, always, in His Matchless Name.
