A New Day's Light

In all the hushed darkness I see the light

Of the full moon, gloriously shining bright,

There in the heavens, on this early morn,

A new day that has not yet come to dawn,

It’s the light of the night that gives it sight,

And brings to the heart, hope, joy and delight.

It’s all dark outside though it’s a new day,

And the moon, though now on its downward way,

Shines bold and bright, with awe and with splendour,

To eyes turned upward, with open candor,

Peace, refreshing hope it gladly renders,

Blessing soul and body, all its members.

Yes, it’s a new day, but night lingers still,

All in God’s plan, His wisdom and His will,

See, the blackness of night has not all gone,

But neither has the moon, its night work done,

In a new day, awaiting the sun’s light,

Look up, there is still the light of the night.

When your new day’s come, but darkness still reigns,

As the black of night lingers and remains,

Remember, this is as God has ordained,

Moonlight and sunlight are in Him contained,

Look to the heavens, God still has His moon,

Be patient, just watch, the sun will shine soon.

Amen!
