You’ve daughters and sons, one or two maybe,
Whoever they are, be not blind to see,
Because they are yours, you are called father,
They belong to you, not to some other,
Be the best father in understanding,
In your giving, more so in your loving,
For a father’s love remains firm and strong,
In times of obedience and times of wrong,
Love of a father comes down from above,
Love that’s expected, huge problems to solve,
Love so tender, compassionate and kind,
Your offspring will in it, peace and joy find,
Being a father is no easy task,
Daily you must go before God and ask,
That He’ll grant you wisdom and inner sight,
To be an example, living aright,
That those whom you father, may emulate,
As you with Father God, daily relate,
Father, grandfather, god-father or more,
Guardian or whoever you are, be sure,
That you look to God, your Father above,
To teach you the way of a father’s love.
