COMMANDMENT OR TRADITION – Strict, law-abiding people, have accused Jesus of allowing His students to break the elders’ traditions. Jesus’ response is stinging, as He unleashes a barrage of evils against them. He confirms what the prophets have spoken about them, as being hypocrites in worship. The indictment is that they reject God’s commands in order to keep their own traditions. Check yourself! Are you placing traditions above obedience to God’s commands?
Save me Lord, from the folly of the Pharisee. Amen!
