I'm in
the wilderness Lord, terribly cold,
Yet the
voice of your servant I do behold,
A voice
that's confessing, loudly and most plain,
Make
straight the Lord's Way; it's for your own gain.
I'm in
the wilderness Lord, all dark and wild,
And by
great temptations I am sore beguiled,
But the
voice of one crying, Repent! Repent!
I know,
is the voice that by You has been sent.
I'm in
the wilderness Lord, hungry for food,
Yes,
I'm of the viperous, terrible brood,
For I'm
a vile sinner, doomed straight for hell,
Yet
this voice has a message of hope to tell.
I'm in
the wilderness Lord, with sorrows deep,
My sins
and foul ways, I can no longer keep.
Though
far I have strayed and followed the wrong,
The
voice tells me that to Christ, I still belong.
I'm in
the wilderness Lord, please hear my cry,
O Lord,
leave me not in my hell life to die,
I come
to the wilderness, the time is now,
To bear
fruit of repentance, just show me how.
I'm in
the wilderness Lord, O give me ears,
Amidst
all my sorrows and all of my tears,
Lord
please let me not leave this wilderness place,
Till
the wilderness voice is my saving grace.
                                              Amen!
