Unless you understand who I am;

How can you know the things that me damn?

How can you know my life’s but a sham?

Unless you understand who I Am?

Unless you understand what I do;

How can you see my sins are not few?

How can you see to lead me anew?

Unless you understand what I do?

Unless you understand where I stand;

How can you give me a helping hand?

How can you give me any command?

Unless you understand where I stand?

Unless you understand why I go;

How can you bring me from paths so low?

How can you bring me, new life to know?

Unless you understand why I go?

Unless you understand where I’ve been;

How can you be my go between?

How can you become my change of scene?

Unless you understand where I’ve been? 

Unless you understand whose I live;

Can you for me your life really give?

Can you in my life remain active?

You understand, for in me You live.
