Maundy Thursday: Servant

MAUNDY THURSDAY: SERVANT – Who is Jesus to you? Yes, He is your Lord and Master; yes, He is your Redeemer; yes, He is the Mighty King; yes, He is Sovereign God Incarnate. But you must never ever forget that He has also come to you as your servant. He comes washing your feet so that in obedience to Him you also are to wash each other’s feet. Your Master was never too proud, too holy and too important, to stoop to the work of the most menial servant to help another. On this most solemn day of learning, learn the attitude of humility of your Master.

 

Jesus, humble me to be the servant You will have me be. Amen!
