Peace

 

Grant us Thy peace Lord, Grant us Thy peace,

For in none else is there sure release,

Freedom from cares and troubles that bind,

Lord, truth alone in You we can find. 

 

Grant us Thy presence Lord, ever nigh,

As we look to You with sorrowful sigh,

Teach us to cast all cares upon You,

Lord, peace assured in You is all true.

 

Grant us Thy pardon from sins all drear,

Who else but You for sinners doth care,

Pardon and peace in You are still found,

Lord, let saving grace our lives surround.

 

Grant us Thy promise as we believe,

You said that You won’t the sinner leave,

Forgive and school us in fervent prayer,

Lord, grant us ears Your word of peace to hear.

 

Grant us Thy provision, for to Thee we look,

It is You who died and all our sins took,

Bring us to faith, most stubbornly sure,

Peace beyond measure we’ll have, with more.
