Purpose Of The Law

PURPOSE OF THE LAW – In every place where human beings gather in communities, there are laws, whether formal or informal, written or spoken. Laws are made for several reasons, some acceptable and others not easily accepted. The law, given many years ago to God’s children depended on the works of people. However, sin took hold of the very law and it made us even more sinful. The law could not save us and so the purpose of the law was lost to us. God came Himself, in His sent Son Jesus, who has become our New Law, in that He is able to fulfil the purpose of the law in us. We are therefore saved, not by our works of law, but His work of grace. We are saved by grace and not by our works. 

 Teach me to look to Jesus and Him only for my salvation. Amen!
