From Trial To Triumph

 

Trials are great and the battle is keen,

Evil has with its devices all mean,

Striking believers to stake fame and claim,

Setting out boldly to kill, steal and maim,

Gnawing at our faith and trust in the Lord,

With precision and stealth, in one accord,

Principalities and pow’rs make their move,

With daily attacks they have come to prove.

That evil powers rule over the earth,

And Christ’s Gospel to us is little worth.

 

Ere we face each fierce battle and trial,

That come with responses of denial,

Saying good has triumphed over evil,

Giving reign to powers of the devil,

We must to all of self, keep on dying,

Trusting, seeking and forever praying,

Believing God’s promises to be true,

And God will do as He says He can do,

Although evil is very much alive,

With Christ Jesus, it just cannot survive.

 

Principalities and pow’rs, on the rise,

Come to God’s people in perfect disguise,

Keeping us with anthems of pure defeat,

Stoking us in doubt, our Lord to entreat, 

But they who come to God must Him believe.

For one can never from fear, faith conceive,

Believe, Jesus triumphed, with Supreme might,

Pray and don’t doubt that for you He will fight,

Only in Christ will there be victories,

Over powers and principalities.
