Who Throttles Your Mind

Watch trees in the garden how healthy they grow,

Creator God to each tree its fruit bestow,

Fruit that are not hidden, be they ripe or green,

But fruit however, which are visibly seen,

What fruit is your life bearing for God today?

Right there where you are planted, just where you stay?

To be without God’s fruit is to live a lie,

Who can our Lord’s promises fault or belie?

For Jesus has stated most firm and most clear,

For all living ears to listen and to hear,

We are the branches and He is the true vine,

All who are in Him can’t but bear fruit divine.

Watch the believers as they go to and fro,

Whatever condition and state they may know,

If their minds are throttled by things all carnal,

They live dead lives of pure Spirit-denial,

Bearing fruit, but never of the Spirit’s kind,

Because faith is not what drives and feeds the mind,

But if the mind by the Spirit is throttled,

Abiding in Christ the believer’s settled,

In thought, word and deed, Holy Spirit stands out,

He confirms His Presence leaving not a doubt,

Where life and peace to faith-living He gives,

The mind ruled by Him does not die, but it lives.

Amen!
