Remembrance Sunday

November 9

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAYOn this day in commonwealth countries and other parts of the world, time is given to military parades and the laying of wreaths at cenotaphs. Did you know that the very word cenotaph, has its origin in a Greek, kenos taphos, which literally means, empty tomb?  Yes, at the empty tomb, a wreath is laid in remembrance of every fallen soldier, who has not returned home. Whether you know of such a soldier or not, will you spend a few moments to bow before our Lord, thanking Him for those faithful soldiers?

Dear God, for all who have given their lives in wars and all who still suffer the trauma of wars, may Your peace and comfort be upon them and their families. Amen!

Read Ecclesiastes 3: 8
