Epiphany Sunday

January 4

EPIPHANY SUNDAY – Today is celebrated by many as Epiphany Sunday, although it is officially celebrated on the sixth day of January. Our freedom to celebrate is as a direct result of our Lord revealing Himself to Gentiles, and fulfilling prophecy. In the three Magi, who came from a far way to worship Jesus, men who were not Jews, is prophecy made flesh. We remember Simeon’s words as he spoke of Jesus being a light for revelation to Gentiles. We too, share in God’s revelation of Himself.

We give You thanks Lord, for revealing Yourself to non-Jews, so that Your salvation is made free to all. Amen!

Read Luke 2: 29 - 32
