God’s Full Armour
Final Quarter 2026
We wear clothing to protect us from insect bites, cold weather and various other reasons. However, in this world, Paul advises us, to protect ourselves from evil forces. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6: 11. He admonishes us to:-
Stand, having your loins girt about with truth. Truth must gird the Church. If her loins are her lower, middle area, then truth must be her girdle or belt, holding her together.
Stand, having on the breastplate of righteousness. Righteousness faithfully guards the heart of the Church, the very life of the Church.
Stand, having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Peace is what the feet of the Church must know, must have and must spread.
Stand, having above all, the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Faith, like the shield, is what you are constantly employing, as the fiery arrows of the enemy are relentlessly being aimed at the heart or core of the Church.
Stand, having on the helmet of salvation. The helmet covers the head. Since Jesus is our Head and only guaranteed salvation, we, the Church must wear Jesus.
Stand, having the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. The sword serves two complementary purposes. It is used for defending and for attacking. The Word of God is the power given to the Church, to be on the offensive and on the defensive.
Stand, having continuous prayer. The Church is called to be ceaselessly praying, always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. She, clad in the full armour of God, must always be watching in prayer, with all perseverance and supplication for herself and all believers. Keep in prayer! The Church is not warring with the flesh.
Be fully aware that this armour is for the Church – you, me and every believer in Jesus - for we are the Church. As you read each devotion, may you be consciously aware of wearing God’s full armour, for seen and unseen forces are constantly on the attack.
May the teaching, enlightening and enabling Holy Spirit, grant you strength to withstand all evil, and boldness to stand in victory. Amen!
