Light: Not Heavy

LIGHT: NOT HEAVY – There is an old standard, which speaks of one’s brother and sister also, as not being heavy to carry, because his or her welfare is your concern. What the song-writer is actually saying, is that his brother is light, not heavy, to bear. Has not Jesus, our Brother, sweetly sung these truths to us? Jesus lovingly tells us that He is not      heavy, because His yoke is easy and His burden is light, not heavy.

 

Jesus, my Brother, I come to exchange my wretchedness and heaviness, for the rest, peace and comfort You offer me. Amen!
