FORGIVE US LORD.

Forgive us Lord for the evil we’ve done,

 Release us Lord from every single one,

 For a life that holds all sin’s guilt and shame,

 Is a life blaspheming, Your Holy Name;

 It was You who saw us in all our sin,

 Covered completely, without and within,

 And before we knew it, Yourself You gave,

 Just so, from damnation, You can us save;

 Even before we knew You, before we dared,

 You O Lord Jesus, for us really cared.

 Forgive us, for we will hide sin no more,

 Help us Lord Jesus, this we know for sure,

 We cannot help ourselves, though hard we try,

 Our efforts only cause, more deaths to die;

 So to You we turn, we have no other,

 You are our Lord, You’re our only Saviour,

 Turn not from us, for Your pardon we need,

 Since You, with God, can for us intercede,

 Word of the Father, fully incarnate,

 Look down upon us, the fully ingrate,

 As we acknowledge our pure wretchedness,

 You assure us of Your pure righteousness,

 Righteousness You alone can bestow,

 Not by law, but grace in the lowest of low;

 O Jesus, Saviour, hope of the sinner,

 You aren’t a loser, only a winner,

 Win us back to You, for love is calling,

 We feel Love’s strong hand that is chastening,

 The voice that is not, our wrongs condoning,

 That keeps on saying, for you I’m caring.

 I hurt because I gave you all of Me,

 Yet you turn, so other ways you can see,

 I hurt, because I’ve not been unfaithful,

 I gave My best, I was always truthful,

 Now I am drawing you back to My Way,

 Return, and come right back to Me today,

 Come as you are, you are Mine, no other,

 Am I not your Healer and Redeemer?

 Just as you are, do take Me at My word,

The Word that from Me, this day you have heard.

 You are My own, I died for no other,

 Forgiveness is yours, My son, My daughter.
