When the
children of God used stubble for straw,
They could not
make their quota, not one bit more,
Though they did
not wane in zeal, sweat nor effort,
What they could
produce was of little comfort;
For to replace
straw with your own found stubble,
Guarantees hardships,
some immeasurable.
Straw would not
be replaced by the ways you find,
Ways that enslave
and cripple you in their bind,
Ways that are stubble,
to your skill and your trade,
That take your
confidence and your mind invade;
For to replace
straw with your own found stubble,
Guarantees you’re
setting up undue trouble.
Stubble is all
that you are able to use,
The enemy
ensures that’s what you must choose,
Since material’s
needed, your work to prepare,
You catch at offers
that come from anywhere;
For to replace
straw with your own stubble
Guarantees
that you will always stumble.
A valuable lesson’s
being taught here,
As we, this
word with faith and folly compare,
Where folly’s the
unsuitable stubble bought,
And the works faith
in us, are never wrought;
For to replace
faith with your own sought folly,
Guarantees your
constant failure, totally.
To replace
faith in God with your means and ways,
One message
and only one it conveys,
That folly is
not working for your good,
Can’t you see
you’re not producing as you should?
If you’ll replace
folly and use faith instead,
You’re guaranteed
the works of one Spirit led.
