CABLES OF MY ANCHOR

Red Blue and Black Photo of a Ship and a Man Sitting on a Stone Near Seashore

Are the cables of your anchor strong and tight?
Will they keep firm in a most grueling fight?
When the ravenous waters of fear and doubt,
Unleash their one mission to knock you about?
If faith is your anchor in a stormy port,
Will faith’s cables remain steady, firm and tort?
Or will they buckle under the heavy weight?
Be sure; please be sure ere it becomes too late.

Will the cables of your anchor stand the test?
Are you sure that they come from the Saviour’s breast?
If faith is the anchor, its cables must be,
Grace, peace and mercy, for it is only He,
Who in His power keeps your frail soul aright,
For faith does not work through your own strength and might;
Ensure that the cables which hold your anchor,
Come straight from the heart of our loving Saviour.
                                                                      Amen!
