Speaking in tongues through the Holy Spirit,
Many, to only one speaking limit,
Saying that in tongues, to many unknown,
Is the only way this filling is shown;
They say, if on you God’s Spirit is poured,
And you do not speak in tongues, be assured
That you’ve not, His Holy Spirit received,
You have been utterly fooled and deceived.
Yet in the same bible I look at Saul,
He whom the Lord without a doubt did call,
To be His witness all over the world,
And to be filled with God’s Spirit, we’re told.
As written in Acts nine and seventeen,
It is evident and most clearly seen,
Ananias to Saul, returned his sight,
And he received the Lord’s Spirit, all right;
Nowhere has it said, with the Lord’s filling,
That he in different tongues began speaking.
When Saul addressed crowds at Jerusalem,
Naught about speaking in tongues, he told them;
Fourteen and fifteen of Acts twenty two,
Read, it’ll bring more understanding to you.
For Saul was given the Lord’s mighty word,
To speak to all what he had seen and heard.
Yes, God’s gift in tongues is manifested,
But there’re other ways as Saul attested;
Saul did not speak in tongues; by will or choice?
But he was surely filled with the Spirit’s voice.
Amen!
