PLEASE SHOW ME THE WAY

Bridge, Sunset, Nature, Fall, River
A man once asked, Lord, please show me the way,
Show the direction I must take today,
I’m becoming more restless, there’s no peace,
My life seems so useless, I need release;
The time has come to make a decision,
I just need to change my life’s direction.
So Lord while I’m waiting to hear from You,
This is what I’ve made up my mind to do,
And since before You I have brought my plight,
I think my decision will be all right;
For it’s just a temporary measure,
While I wait to know Your distinct pleasure.
But that man in his turmoil and unrest,
Did what he decided for him was best.
Here is a lesson, a warning for you,
Heed not when your mind tells you what to do,
When your mind is held by worry and fear,
That’s when the deceiver comes very near,
Feeding you reasonable suggestions,
Which in your state seem like good solutions;
If you are the Lord’s then trust Him I say,
Though your mind’s confused, He’s not gone away.
                                                  Amen!
