Good Shepherd

GOOD SHEPHERD – Jesus has categorically stated, without any manner of wavering or cowering, that He is the Good Shepherd. He does not say that He is just a Shepherd, but He wants us to know that He is the Good Shepherd. Is there not cautioning and celebrating in His description of Himself? He’s cautioning us to be aware that there are other shepherds around besides Him. However, we can celebrate Him, because He is the Shepherd who is Good. Isn’t that great news? Regardless of how helpful, caring, nice-sounding and inviting other shepherds are, shun them!  He is the only True Shepherd.

Good Shepherd of the sheep, we celebrate You. Thank You for Your unmatched goodness. Amen!
